Word Associations

It's very interesting how the mind of a two year old works. There are some things that trigger an immediate response from MB and she says the same thing every. single. time. It's like clock work!

• When she eats peanuts - She looks at her hand and says stamp and then claps (reminders her of the trip to the baseball game)



• Scratch or boo boo - Meow that (blaming a cat) OR ellow booze (yellow bruise from her run in with another toddler)



• When she sees Golf Clubs - Yaga balls (the memory of pulling all of my mom's golf balls out of her bag)



• Picture of a tractor - Papa's tractor



• When we get in the car - Ool Bus (she wants to see a school bus) AND nusic (she wants to listen to her toddler music CD's



• When a song is over AND when we pass a school bus - do again



• When we pull out of the driveway - Bye House



• Bubbles - Bubbles Mouth (she gets in trouble for putting bubbles in her mouth)



• Beach - Water Cold (this is a memory from when we went to the beach in Charleston)



• I Spy book - Mimi book (Mimi gave her the book)



• Let's brush your teeth - Dada's teeth? (she doesn't like to brush alone)



• Do you want to watch Barney? - Mama bath, then she says Baby Bop (I normally let her watch Barney while I take a shower)



• Looking at our deck - Dada flowers, Dada wet (Dan planting flowers and getting everything wet)



• Time for a bath - Pink! (that is the color tablet that she wants to put in the water)



• Bundled in a towel after bath - Mawy Bef baby (she wants you to hold her like a baby)



• Time for bed - Book, Pay, Wok (our bedtime routine is read a book, pray and then rock a few minutes)



• Changing a diaper - EW WEEE!



• When she sees my feet - Pink toes



• When we walk into a public restroom - Mawy Bef wash hands, mama wash hands



• When we sit down to eat - Ahmen, hands (Hold hands and say the blessing)
